Payments for accounts are required on the day of consultation. We accept cash, Eftpos and most major credit cards.

Fee Changes

There will be an increase of fees from 24th July 2023 at Warragul Family Medicine.

Please note: Full payment is expected at the conclusion of your consultation.

Telephone consultations are only available to be booked on the day and must be paid for on the day. A $10 non refundable admin fee is payable if the account is not settled on the day.

Transfer of Medical Records

A $25 fee applies for the transfer of patient records to another clinic. This fee covers admin time to access and collate health records and any postage. Please note additional fee per page will apply for printed copies requested.

Non-Medicare Services

Medicare will only provide a rebate for services performed by your GP or Nurse as part of a face-to-face consultation. A non-rebatable private fee  applies for any services you request your clinician to perform without your attendance at a consultation (such as completing a form). Consultations under Workcover and TAC will be charged privately and there is no rebate from Medicare for these services.

Document Reprinting Fees

Your referral letters, prescriptions, pathology request forms, etc. are important documents. The reprinting of documents such as lost referral letters, lost scripts, and copies of specialist letters, misplaced pathology or radiology requests will incur a $10.00 administration fee (not Medicare refundable)

Procedure Fees

A Procedure Fee will be charged in addition to a consultation fee. Your doctor will discuss fees for procedures with you. Fees vary between $30 & $100 depending on time required for each procedure and are non- rebatable through Medicare.

Services that will attract a Procedure Fee include:

  • Ear Syringing
  • Excisions
  • Biopsies
  • Implanon Insertion / Removal
  • Laceration Repair / Sutures
  • Plaster Casts
  • Iron Infusion
  • Removal of Stitches (not done here)
  • Any other procedure that requires specialised equipment or nursing care

Dressing Fees

A Dressing Fee will be charged in addition to a consultation fee.

Basic Dressing – Single Attendance $15.00
Moderate Dressing – Single Attendance $20.00
Complex Dressing – Single Attendance $30.00

Patients are welcome to purchase appropriate dressings directly from their pharmacy of choice if they prefer to do so and avoid the fee.

Please note that due to Medicare legislation regarding the charging of private fees, patients who are normally bulk billed will be charged the rebate amount for the consultation rather than being bulk billed at the time of billing the Dressing fee. Medicare will refund the rebate amount directly to the patient so there will not be an out of pocket expense for the consultation fee.

Extenuating Circumstances

If you have extenuating circumstances please discuss these with your medical practitioner.
